How Our Network Works

Talk to a provider

Who you talk to

You talk to an independent provider. Not Searchingone Plumbing. We are a referral service, so the person on the line runs their own plumbing or drain business in your area.

That provider gives you the details, the quote, and the schedule.

What happens on the call

Expect a few simple questions. Be ready to answer them.

  • What is happening, and where in the house?
  • When did it start?
  • Is water still running? Have you shut off the main valve?
  • Is there standing water or a sewage smell?

The provider uses your answers to judge the job. Some jobs can start with a phone estimate. Others need a visit first. Ask which one applies to you.

What to ask a plumber

Keep this list handy. Ask it before the work starts.

  • What caused this? You want the reason, not just the fix.
  • What does the price include? Labor, parts, and any camera inspection.
  • Could the price change? If yes, what would cause it?
  • Can I have the quote in writing? Answer first. Quote in writing.
  • Are you licensed and insured here? Rules differ by area.
  • What should I do after? Ask for upkeep tips.

What drives the price

Three things move the number most: how hard the pipe is to reach, how bad the damage is, and how much time the job takes. In the U.S., typical ranges are wide. A drain clearing and a sewer repair are very different bills. A written quote keeps everyone honest.

You are in control

You can say no. You can compare quotes. You can ask questions twice. There is no obligation to hire the first provider you talk to.

If damage is involved, ask the provider to document it. That can help if you file a claim. Some policies may cover sudden damage. Check your policy.
